Our Story

North Spur is a veteran-owned and operated business built on a lifetime of service, craftsmanship, and a passion for the western lifestyle.

Throughout our journey, horses were never far behind.

One of us has been in the saddle since childhood. The other didn't realize just how important horses would become until adulthood. Different paths led us here, but both ultimately arrived at the same place: a deep appreciation for horses, the western lifestyle, and the equipment that supports it.

North Spur was founded out of necessity. Like many horse owners, we found ourselves searching for the perfect piece of equipment, only to discover that it rarely existed. We liked one feature from one product, another feature from another, and often found ourselves modifying both to better suit the horse, rider, and application.

Our military and professional experience taught us that equipment should never be an afterthought. Quality, reliability, and attention to detail matter. In some environments, lives depend on it. While the stakes may be different in the horse world, the mindset remains the same.

That philosophy guides everything we do.

From hardware selection and materials to design, construction, and finishing, every decision is made with purpose. We believe the best gear is rarely mass-produced. It is refined, adapted, and built around the individual who relies on it.

If there is one debate that never ends at North Spur, it's colour. One of us believes everything should come in black or brown, while the other believes there is always room for another colour combination. Rather than deciding for our customers, we decided to offer the customization and let them choose.

At the heart of North Spur are the horses that inspired it all: Auren, Ronin, and Peanut. They remind us every day that quality, fit, and attention to detail matter.
